Young people from Carnforth, and elsewhere in Lancaster and Morecambe were invited to take part in recording a podcast on the Rock FM bus this week.
Young People were asked to say what they wanted to see in their community in the future under the headings:
Stay Safe
Be Healthy
Enjoy and Achieve
Economic Wellbeing
Positive Contribution
Four young people from Carnforth took part - Connor Brock, Joe Sykes, Edi Shemilt and Sarah Stephenson
The next stage is for them to feed into the Children’s Trust Launch on Friday 23rd January in Hornby
To hear them on the Podcast audio - come back to this page soon, or

Local young MCs came into Carnforth High School to prepare for this project over the last couple of weeks (thanks for the Drama room Miss Shoering!). A decent sound system and turntables brought in by Youth Worker and DJ Ed Maxwell meant they could have a couple of sessions to prepare for a performance in front of 100 other young people at DT3 Youth Arts Centre.
Nine young people came along to the event, (hosted by MC Spee from Dreadzone) Read the rest of this entry »
Take our survey on the new centre – tell us what kind of things you want to happen? What equipment should we be getting?
And if you have taken the survey, what did you think of it?
Is it a useful way to get your ideas?
Over 145 young people from all over the Lancaster and Morecambe district attended the Fallout MC night at DT3. Most of the young people on the mic were Mc-ing but some of the Carnforth young people got involved in writing and performing with rapper ‘Jewelz’. Halloween fancy dress was the order of the day, with some truly wonderful appearances from Batman (Ed) and a ‘grey’ alien in robes (who was that under there?).
The Carnforth Crew represented themselves well again and are looking forward to getting into the new building and applying for funds for their own equipment.
Were you there on the night? What did you think of it?
